Ok, I will give it another try. I just watched the Eragon 1080P clip on my system (details below in sig) and for the most part I maintained 24 FPS. During a few scenes it would drop down to 12-14 FPS.

I've also noticed since re-installing that colors dont fade nicely on my 1080P trailers. So hopefully the Cyberlink software will fix that as well.

PS: I was just eyeballing/guessing it was at fullframe rate because everything looks so good. I just verified with WMP11 and the actual framerate doesnt budge from 23.9. My guess is this is the way the video should be played. One thing I noticed different about our setups. Overlay verses VMR9+FSE. I actually just tried VMR9 and got full framerate; but saw a tiny bit of tearing without FSE turned on; also the video looked a little bit softer.

This worked for me as well. Thanks for the tip.

MovieTimes not updating

This is the second time I've set MovieTimes up now. Both times, I've run into the same problem. Initially, everything works fine, but after a week or two, I realize that the showtimes, and even the movies themselves are not being updated. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Invariably, after the install of the STV, I find it necessary to revert to previous application packages - usually simply for troubleshooting. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. later, I reload the latest, and even later, I try to reinstall. I suspect that the quiet.exe program is not running, but I don't know why. Any ideas?

You will need to tell Windows to schedule that as a task. Under the Control Panel select Scheduled Tasks and the Add Scheduled Task. Tell it when you want it to schedule a call to Quiet.exe or Mtsa.exe.

And you'll need to set it up with a user that also has a password.

Scheduled Tasks

Morgan,

Thanks for your quick help here, but I was really looking for a much more involved solution that would require dozens of all-nighters, additional hardware, and the eventual complete rebuild of my system.

Really though, I can't believe I missed setting up a scheduled task!!

Thanks!

You can do it on XP Home without a password by setting the following Windows registry entry to 0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\limitblankpassworduse

Found that as #67 at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Please help Aperry!

First of all, my apologies for the double-post. I need your help aperry! My movietimes for sageMC is not working right. However, I have a feeling the problem isn't specific to SageMC. Would you please be kind enough to look at the problem I'm reporting in the below thread? I would be grateful for any suggestions and/or help you can provide. This addon is irreplaceable and can't wait to get it working again!

I have finally got belgian movie info to work -- I needed to download the latest mtsa and make a few mods (patched mtsa.exe attached.)

I also have a couple of enhancements if aperry (or anyone studio-aware) is interested (these are for 6.1)

Button for imdb search (if installed) on movie detail page
Button for google video trailer search on movie detail page (saves downloading the trailers for all the films)

Note: This is a manual import and requires studio knowledge:
  • Start Studio
  • File->Import attached movietimes_gvid_imdb.xml
  • Go to the first, Untitled, menu, expand it
  • select all children and Edit->copy
  • Go to "Menu MovieTimes Movie Details/Movie Details Menu Container/Left Button Panel/Buttons"
  • Delete the 'Back' item
  • Select the Buttons panel
  • Edit->Paste Reference
  • Save and enjoy
Attached Files
File Type: zip movietimes_gvid_imdb.zip (751 Bytes, 140 views)
File Type: zip Mtsa_be_patched.zip (53.4 KB, 165 views)

For the life of me, I cannot get the trailers to show up in Movie Times. I had it working at one time, but it went away and now I cannot get it back.

I have tried re-installing and re-configuring from scratch, but still no go.

Also, I noticed the descriptions now just show the actors but no synopsis, it has been that way for a while now.

Any help is appreciated.

I should have mentioned that when I re-installed this last time, I downloaded the latest version 4.3.1.

Any other ideas?

I finally got my trailers to show up again, I had changed directories and was still downloading trailers to the old directory.

Can anyone tell me how to get the internal SagePlayer, or preferably the NVidia codec to play the HD trailers? Are there any switches needed?

As far as I know the version that works with the default STV doesn't have this capability. I tired different command line with SagePlayer defined as the player and couldn't get it to work. Only the SageMC version is programed to utilize the SagePlayer.

As far as the SageTVPlayer goes, I did a little fiddling around and got it to work just fine. I had to change the switches as the previous "recommended" settings of "-fs -monitoraspect 16:9" had the video behind the desktop apps (kinda freaky looking) The following switches work great for me using SageTVPlayer.exe. Not sure that you need the -ontop switch but it works fine and even fixed a quirk when I used the HIP to execute a stop command.

-vm -ontop -monitoraspect 16:9

John
I have the SageTVPlayer playing the HD files with the switches listed above, the only thing is that the player never exits. I can hit the "Exit" key in Sage, and it will minimize the player window, but if I play several trailers and the exit the Sage gui, I have an open player for every trailer I watched.

If anyone knows how to get the window to automatically close, let me know.

Thanks.

EDIT: I've tried Stop, and that does not work either.

I'm sorry I should have been more explicit. When I said it didn't work I didn't mean the video didn't show. What I meant was it was a complete solutoin. As you have found out you can't get the player to stop and exit properly. The result being what you found when you quit Sage. Looking in SageMC it was a major programming effort to get it to work that way.

Sage 6+ should be able to play the .mov internally...

You can try this if you open studio and search for
Code:
p = ExecuteProcess(MtsaTrailerExecutable, TrailerOptions, new_java_io_File("C:\\"), true)
and replace with
Code:
Watch(MtsaTrailerName)
(add a link to MediaPlayerOSD if you want it to go to fullscreen playback immediately)

I finally got around to upgrading to this new version and unfortunately I don't see the Google Video search option. The IMDB search button shows up now though.

Is there anything I need to change to get this to work with 6.2?
