Sometime Sage doesn't see all of my 4 tuners
For example I'll be watching live tv with nothing else recording. So that mean 3 tuners free.
Sage will then ask if it's ok to change the channel, uh, hello, there's three other tuners to use! Also sometimes changing channel produces this change channel questions too. If I do nothing, just remove the option screen, Sage fires up one of the other tuners anyways and it works fine. But why the heck does it have to ask if it can change channels when I have free tuners?? |

Probably because you've set the encoder merit, forcing it to try to use a specific tuner before any others.

I have my three tuners that are connected to digital cable boxes set to a merit of 1, and my fourth turner on regular cable is set to 0.
If it is because of the merit settings then this is a bug. And it's been around for a long time too. |

I submitted a bug report for this a couple of years ago. I think not everyone sees it as a bug.

I don't understand how that could not be a bug...

Whether it's classified as a bug or not I definitely find this behaviour non-intuitive. It confuses me but more importantly confuses the rest of my family with the result that there's been occasions where Sage hasn't recorded shows even though there were more than enough tuners available because someone answered the conflict warning incorrectly.
So whether it's a bug or not, I'd like at least the option to have this behaviour changed. Lester

This only seems to start showing up after my sage server has been up running for a while. It's like Sage's connection to the tuners degrades after some time.

I would like to see this fixed as well. New Sage users might find this very frustrating and confusing |

I had a disappearing tuner a while back, I could add it back in, and it would work fine until I restarted Sage, then it was gone again. Took a reinstall for me to get it to "stick".
