Nvidia Decoder registry mods

Don't know if this is widely known already or not. Figured it might be of interest to some of you.. Seems to work with my 6200 video card.

I entered the registry mods, but got nothing. How do you access the extras? I have a BFG GeForce 6200, which included Nvidia TrueVideo.

I just added the registry entries and then playing something that uses the Nvidia decoder they were there. Maybe check your registry entries again.

How recently have you updated your video drivers? Chances are, you are running older drivers that don't support these extras.

I have the newest drivers, as I just bought the thing. I'll check everything again. Thanks you two.

Where do you click/go to see these new settings please? Maybe that's why I can't see them, I don't know where to look.

Hi,
If you put a dvd in and start playing it (NOT full screen) you should see the nvidia icon on sytem tray near clock--just right click it.

That's the confusing part, LOL. I have Nvidia drivers for the 6200 too, so there is always that icon in the Task Bar. I'll try the DVD thing.

Thanks wheelrandolph.

This works. Now we just need an explanation of the settings

Tried it on a 5200 with 77.77 drivers. Gonna setup the HTPC next.

There are two nvidia taskbar icons. The one for the display driver is always there. A second icon shows up when you play content with the purevideo decoder. That's the one you want to click on.

That make sense. I gather it should show up if I simply click on an Mpeg file, right? I'll play some more. My WMP need updating too.

Thanks davin.
