Have you played with running in service mode vs. non-service mode? Maybe that would make a difference?

Has anyone found this problem using SageClient w/TT?

Andy.

Does running the sage tv service mean that even with the app closed it will still record my shows?

ok nevermind, found answer in manual. Well that would seem to be a fix, not a great on as I really do not want to have to see the app start each tim I go to watch something.

Is there a way to diable the splash screen in sage?

well I thought I had a fix but it is a no go. I was going to set up the playmee plugin thru Meedio to close the sage app when I started TT and reopen it when I closed TT using the sage service to take care of any recordings while I am in TT "BUT" since the issue of sage wanting to open in windowed mode after starting with the "-startup" command switch this is a no go. Why has this problem that has been known about forever not been fixed? How hard is it to make an app start in fullscreen everytime?

From what I'm reading, between the lines at any rate from tech support, it is on their "list" of things to fix. They're still trying to fix the problem I reported which is an EPG bug on C band where if you have enough channels remapped the guide dies.

I'm hoping for these two fixes so that my HTPC can once again become a singe remote app without closing this program, changing this setting, etc. It's still my favorite app even with those faults.

By the way, what was the solution you thought you found that didn't work as expected?

Has anyone figured out the hardware or software combination that causes this problem yet? Does tech support even know?

I'm just about ready to dump TheaterTek because of all the weird problems it causes with my Sage experience.

A: I think it is safe to say the the combo is Sagetv(on standby), Theatertek, Nvidia card. If you are using the service with the app closed the problem is gone. Yes tech support knows.

ToxMox,
Theatertek came first for me and I would never give it up plus the problem is non existent on ati cards which is why I am going to Sell off my 6600gt agp($120 PM me )and go with a x1300 agp when it comes out.

"I'm just about ready to dump TheaterTek because of all the weird problems it causes with my Sage experience."

You're being sarcastic right??

TT is simply the best htpc software I own. I also use Meedio, have tried BTV, MeedioTV, and I use Sage v4 currently...but none of those apps just plain work like TT does.
BTW...............I have the same problem, I was so happy that Frey finally fixed the focus issues and I would be able to keep the UI in sleep instead of closed with service mode...............but because of this active movie issue, I am still having to close the UI to return to Meedio.

Some days I wonder what life would be like if I just installed Media Center 2005???

John

While TT is great and all, it is nice to have an integrated DVD player. The only thing that TT did for me that Sage does not is remember last disk position. I wish it did that.

Nope. Considering I watch less than 10 DVDs a year and watch hours of TV a day. Sage is at the top of my priority list.

I downloaded the demo of TT and while it does look good, it does not play nice with Sage and sage is the entire reason my HTPC exists, well recording my programs is the main reason it's around.

I won't register TT because it's not usable for me at this point in time. I hope SageTV ends up getting their issues fixed, this FSE and VMR9 stuff I guess is new to them and I'm sure they'll fix the bugs.
