MCE2005 remote with SageTV?

Is it possible to use the Microsoft MCE remote with SageTV?

BeyondTV can make use of it, so it should be possible with SageTV.

Thx!

Yes, if you do a search of the forums you should find plenty of information about using the MCE remote with Sage.

Have you tried linking the cmds/Keystrokes to sage TV? I dont know if you can see the remote thro sage though- I use a Keyspan remote- and am trying to get MCE cmds working on it.
As far as I know- MCE remote has Keystroke analogues. So doing the reverse should be possible outside MCE environment-

I use it, works somewhat all by itself. To use all the buttons you need to use Girder. I have it setup with Girder and all the buttons work fine. There is also another driver on the Girder site that will let you use the blasters. I don't use that since I don't need to "Blast" anything on my client machines.

You can also use Hip (www.byremote.com.au ) with it's MCE Send & Receive Interface which as well as being a great product - is free. - ( pls excuse my shameless plug for another Aussie! )

It will work with the existing mappings for the MCE remote to SageTV/Windows commands and let you remap other keys to whatever SageTV commands you'd like - with the default driver. ( I have this setup working in my rig ) You can also use the replacement driver and map all the keys to whatever SageTV/Windows commands you'd like.

My understanding is that you can also get blaster support with the MCE Send & Receive Interface with either the default and replacement driver.

Cheers

Peter
