How to remove an Album from Music JukeBox?

I removed all tracks of a particular album from the Playlist and from the hard drive. "Music by Song Title" now no longer lists those tracks. However, the Album is still present and contains those track titles. If I click on any of them, I receive an error message, because those tracks no longer exist.

If I add some of the tracks again, they are now twice in the Album, but only one of them will work, the other still gives an error.

Is this a bug (if so, I will report it), or am I missing something?

I am currently running beta version 2.2.4.

Thanks,

I think you have to update the import library.

sounds like a bug: if so you should report it... (I also have a couple of duplicate entries in my music library, but have not yet had a chance to see why)

Normally, If Sage can 'see' the disk and directory where the album once was, it should be able to 'see' that the files are no longer there and remove them from the library... If the whole drive/network path is not available, then sage cannot see that those files are no longer there...

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I did that of course.

It definitely knows they are gone because they have disappeared from the "Music by Title" display. Also, as soon as I put them back, they re-appear in addition to the ones in the album.

I'm having the same problem. I installed a new drive and moved all my mp3 files to the new drive. I then reset my media libraries and added the new mp3 folder as a directory.

Now when I go to Jukebox, i see duplicates of all mp3 files. If I play the first file, I get a playback error. If I play the second file, it works.

I have completely deleted the directory in which the mp3s used to reside and "refreshed" my media library, but these files still appear in Jukebox. I double-checked my properties file line by line, there is absolutely no reference to the old mp3 directory anywhere.

Any suggestions where this old directory info could be hiding?

EDIT: I am using the most recent beta (2.2.5)

My guess is that the Album info is stored in wizbin and is not being updated properly. I am going to submit a bug report.

In my case, the ghost tracks were still referenced by playlists...

I removed all playlists, removed my music import library, rescanned, and finally the music by album view was empty!

Re-adding the music import library, and rescanning put everything right again!

UPDATE: Changing properties to "make_all_mediafiles_local=false" fixed the problem. Now I just need to figure out why the same album art appears for every single album...

I didn't delete my playlists. I'll try that.

I was hoping to avoid that since creating playlists is such a Herculean labor with Sage...

My album finally gone

Below is the response I received from SageTV. In my case deleting the PlayList which USED to contain the tracks of that album, solved the problem. Can someone please tell me what a "Service" is? Thanks,

Wolfgang

Have you completely removed all library paths and then restarted Sage? That
should be one way to do this. Also close the service as well.

The other way is to close SageTV and the service and open up your
Sage.properties file in the Frey Technologies directory. Change this line to
read true, "make_all_mediafiles_local=false". Now run Sage and see if it
helps.

They mean the SageTV service - where the recording engine and Sage server run in a separate process which is a window-less background process which is started and restarted automatically by Windows, and the playback engine runs in a separate front-end process... Check the manual for more details.
