Volume too loud on PVR 350
I have three Sage PVRs (2 PVR 350's, 1 PVR 250), and my latest one is giving me headaches! It works perfectly for video, like the others, but the volume level is way too high (loud). I've tried:
1) Created the registry setting: HKLM\Software\Frey Technologies\Common\MSPAudio\Scart1Volume and using values from 0001 (mute) to 7301 No change. 2) Modified the: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hauppauge\hcwTVDlg\AudioControls again, changing the values for Scart1_Volume didn't have any affect. Any other suggestions? I'm using SageTV v2.1.10 (was at lower version, upgraded, no change). The Happauge Driver was installed from the recommended download from Sage (v1.18.21.2254), again I was using a previous version of the driver, and no change. Running out of ideas. Anyone? Kevin |

This is a hauppauge problem. I have it as well on the PVR250 and the USB2 on the line inputs.
I have found some registry settings for the the PVR250 that seem to have an effect. The key name below holds most of the params for the pvr250 driver I believe. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Globespan\Parameters\ivac15\Driver The dword "HcwAudioScart1Volume" can take values aa01 where aa can be from 00 to 7f for volume. There other dwords starting with "HcwAudio" and ending in "Prescale" that also affect the TV and AM/FM tuners audio levels indirectly. The AM/FM bit is for the radio tuner and the FM is the TV Tuner. (I am not with my HTPC right now so I am working from memory) Try lowering those between someting like x"1000" and x"3000". You have to reboot after each change. And of course, before you start any of this, backup you registry or at least the brances you will modify so that you can always return to start if anything goes wrong and the sound goes away totally I will be playing around with this later on tonite. Hope that sucess is on the way. |

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\MSPAudio\Scart1Volume use to also effect the record audio level (it was additive with the Hauppauge settings), but that is no longer true. |

In my case the MSPAudio setting did not have any effect.
You may look through the tread below over at the Hauppauge forums for some more details. http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/sho...?t=1006&page=1 |
