Recovering previous recordings

Hi

As part of my up/down/upgrade I was forced to delete wiz.bin and start from scratch.

Now I'm back up and running none of my previous recordings show up in my list of recordings. The files are all there, but they are not shown in the list.

I've read the FAQ and tried creating a new folder, telling Sage about it in the recording folders and then moving the files etc. but I still can't get them to reappear.

What am I missing?

Steve

you are missing your old wiz.bin...

the new wiz.bin knows nothing about the programs that were recorded, and even if it did, the internal airing ID would not match what is in the filename...

Without a the data in your old wiz.bin, they just become video library files.

I do have a copy of the wiz.bin after the first upgrade to 2.1.

Since then I deleted all the config files and installed 2.1 and then upgraded to 2.2.3.

Anything I can do or do I just forget about it?

I guess it's no big deal.

What nielm said. If you have your wiz.bin that you used until just recently (from v2.1?), try exiting SageTV, restoring that wiz.bin, and restarting SageTV. If using service mode, stop it during this proces.

OK, got them all back.

Thanks.

I thought that there were likely to be compatibility issues between the wiz.bin's.

Wiz.bin files are forward compatible, meaning new versions of Sage can "upgrade" wiz.bin's from older versions. But you can't go the other way.
