Wireless Keyboards with mouse?
Does anyone know of a good keyboard with a built in mouse control? I would preffer it to be bluetooth or radio, not IR.
Any suggestions would be great Cheers |

I have one of these:
http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/...roductid=16790 It is IR but the range is good (several meters even when the receiver is behind a smoked glass door!), Only problem I have is that the trackball fails when the batteries are weak, but at 22 quid, you cannot really go wrong! (I actually only use it when my HTPC goes badly wrong, or I want to do email/browsing on the TV). It actually took me quite a long time to find a keyboard/trackball combo that was on sale to the public outside of the US... Just to clarify: I would not recommend it for an everyday permenant use keyboard: the trackball is too small, and the keyboard itself feels a little flimsey.. I picked up a 4 meter rated IR wireless kb w/trackball for $28 back in May. Works fine from the recliner across the room, especially for the price!
http://www.cmicomputer.com/searchCat.htm then search "DLK-9999".

I just ordered this one from PC Alchemy. I will let you know how it works.
Mike BTC 9019URF I also have this one, and it works great. It won't go more than about 10-12 feet, but it is RF and very nice.

I must say that my first one had slightly more range(30 feet). This model goes about 20ft without issue for me.
If yours is 10-12, something is wrong. I. Quote:

It's probably my fault. I have it sitting on the floor behind the HTPC in stead of taped to the top of my TV, which is 4ft up.

I have had the keyboard for a couple weeks now. It works well even from ~30ft. which puts me in the bathroom, still in line of sight of the TV. but at that distance it is difficult to read the menus on my 27" TV.
The mouse is easy to use, it seems to need about 2 sec to have the mouse start moving, once it does it behaves normally. It is much more convienient than being wired to the htpc. |
