where do I get the xerces.jar file ?
I need it for the xmltv plugin and everywhere I checked, when you click on xerces.jar for download, it downloads xerces.zip which doesn't contain the xerces.jar file. Please help me.

This is an Internet Explorer bug: save the file *as* xerces.jar (a jar file is simply a zip file with a different extension, and contains .class files)

To download, look for it on the Xerces website. I don't know whether you need Xerces 1 or 2, but both are available there.
As was stated above, if the file gets saved as xerces.zip, simply rename it to xerces.jar. As far as where to put the xerces.jar file, look for the JARs folder in your Sage installation folder, usually C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\JARs. Put it there. Be sure to restart SageTV so that it will have access to the JAR. Last edited by aperry; 03-23-2006 at 03:53 PM. |

There are a ton of files there and no way to know which version works. Your suggestions of where to store it may be my problem. The version I took was from RoboGeek post# 2 at
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...=XMLTV+grabber I placed it in the C:Programs/Java folder. I found this at the official site of the jar files http://archive.apache.org/dist/xml/x...j/old_xerces2/ Its 2003 version and there are several xerrec.jar files buried in very many different zip files. What up with the ones called deprecatedjar files? Are they crippled in some fashion? |

In Java-ese, when a particular functionality is going to be removed from a product, or they want you to use something different, they will usually reference the item (class, function, etc.) as "deprecated". So, if I were to guess, the stuff in the deprecated.jar files are things like that.
