How exactly does the cover art work?

I know that if you set it up such that albums are put into folders, Sage knows to look for cover.jpg. However, I am getting weird behavior where I have a bunch of mp3's in one folder with no picture files but some of my albums are showing up with the right picture files. Is there another place Sage looks for the pictures. Does it have to be the same folder as the mp3?

cover art can also be embedded into the MP3 file vie the ID3 tag that also holds the artist/album/track name

so actually what is happening is i added my ipod as an imported folder and some of those files are getting album art. I'm trying to figure out how there is album art associated with those mp3's and where they are stored. I can't find them on the ipod

I figured o9ut how to embed the picture in the mp3 file. I was wondering how sage finds the album image if some of the mp3's have images and some don't. do all of them have to have the same image, or just the first in the album.

It uses a single image as the entire album's thumbnail, using the thumbnail from the first song on the album that has an image. Even if some songs have different art, it will use the image from the lowest track # where it finds a picture as the image for every song on that album. (Did those sentences make sense??)
