Annoying functionality of nVidia GeForce FX 5200 and driver 66.93 with SageTV

I don't think this is a Sage problem - I'm just posting here because Sage users probably have seen this and know what I'm talking about.

Ever since I installed a GeForceFX 5200 graphics card in my SageTV server (S-Video connection to a TV), it auto-scales the output to fit the screen. The problem is, the autoscaling doesn't take into account the SageTV UI.

I've made sure that aspect ratio is set to fixed in the SageTV preferences. It's a driver problem - does anyone know how to correct it?

Yes this is the fault of Nvidia's drivers. This only happens in overlay mode, I'd suggest you try vmr9 first.

If you prefer overlay, then install the older version of Nvidia's driver 53.04 available on the Nvidia website in archives. This older version does not have the overlay zooming issue.

you can use the sage settings to adjust overscan.

just go into setup menu. you can shift left, right, up and down plus shrink or extens the UI in all directions.

Yup, I had the same problem. The fix I am using is to go into settings->detailed setup->multimedia->aspect ratio settings and put in 98 (or whatever fits your screen the best).

I also use the same workaround. I set mine to 99% and things seem to work out well.

Just wanted to post back and say that 99% fixed it perfectly. I never would've got this on my own, as I tried going the other way (105%,110%,115%).
