using pvr250 cable tv tuner input?
i've always had my comcast cable connected to the pvr250 tuner input and for the entire time channel 4 has looked like hell (lots of interference in the picture looks like a poorly received OTA channel). i've heard that this is a regular problem with the hauppauge cards.
are there any drivers which have addressed this yet? the channel is watchable but looks terrible compared to all the other channels. i don't really like to change drivers too often since my sage installation is so stable and don't want to compromise that unless this can be gained when i'll be willing to take the chance. ps. channel 4 in mt lineup is FOX so it's a pretty big one to get poor results from! |

Yeah I got the same problem
and mine is FOX as well using SouthWestern Bell cable I have a feeling they are just renting comcast cable lines look like carp and when I had a cable guy come out he got mad told me there was nothing wrong and walked out always nice and I see this with and without using the pvr 250 but the pvr 250 definitely emphasizes the problem with the signal although I also do not see this much of a drop quality with other channels |

Same problem here but I solved the problem more or less by using an hooking up my VCR into the loop. The VCR tuner is set to channel 4 on the tuner. I then connected an RF modulator to it and set it to re-broadcast on channel 74. I then remapped my lineup from 4 to 74 and I'm back in business on all my tuners. It also gives me the ability to "digitize" my VCR tapes pretty easily and/or watch a VCR tape any where in the house on channel 74.
Crappy way to solve the problem but it works. BTW, some people have composite inputs on there PVR-250/USB2. You could plug the VCR into this input and do it that way too. If you have a good VCR with S-Video out you of course could use that too. |

i had a goal for a tape free household...i achieved that goal
ie. don't own a vcr any more. oh well. it just sucks because fox has great reception on all my other tv's and direct into my hdtv and only sucks when passed through the pvr 250. thanks for the replies though. |
