Padding doesn't work

I'm using Sage beta 2.1.10.

Tonight, I've noted that padding doesn't work. I'm attempting to pad a couple of shows, and I’m only certain I’ve seen it actually work for one favorite, period. It definitely didn't work for the last The Simpsons episode, which I have set to pad 1 minute early, and end 10 minutes late. The recording started on time, and ended on time. (The episode appeared to run long, so the recording ended prematurely.)

How do you know padding is not working? Also, padding only happens when it can - which means that if there is a recording on right after the padding is removed.

Interesting, I'll check that out. Thank you.

If I look at the scale across the bottom of the menu that shows how long the episode is, it is exactly 30 minutes. My padding should have resulted in a recording that went 41 minutes.

That is why I asked the first question . Try fast forwarding past the 30 minute mark. I bet it keeps going for 10 minutes. The OSD is crappy in that it does not show the padding.

Tried it -- unfortunately, it did end at the 30-minute mark.

I don't currently have any favorites set to record after The Simpsons, so I don't think that particular scenario kept the padding from going long.

Do you know where I can check the setting (sage.properties?) to see if the padding is at least setup properly for the favorite? It would be interesting to see if the configuration is truly set to what the GUI is indicating it is.

Thanks!

Are you looking at the Favorite Details screen to see how the padding is set for that favorite? It is displayed there & would not be in the properties file, since favs are stored in wiz.bin. Do you, by any chance, have more than one Simpsons Favorite & the wrong one is set for padding? Have you looked into this true/false property:

remove_padding_on_back_to_back_favorites - when two Favorites are on back-to-back on the same channel it causes any padding to be ignored for that junction
