SageTV 2.0 running at 100% CPU - channels to change
All the sudden when I started up SageTV 2.0 it was very unresponsive. Turned out that it is running at 100% CPU usage.
Restarted PC,.... no change. Has anyone seen something like this? Last edited by metropole; 11-20-2004 at 04:33 PM. |

The corruption ends up causing all kinds of problems, including the 100% CPU utilization.

I recently had a problem similar to this and defragmenting my video storage drive helped.

You are probably correct.
However I tried to resolve it an other way which made things better and then worse. I upgraded to v2.1. This fixed the 100% CPU issue. However caused a new issue that SageTV did not change channels anymore. It switched to the new channel (channel number, description,...) but did not switch on the Hauppauge card. Channels setup did not fix it. Tried to change something else in the advanced menu (profile or something, I believe second last option). SageTV was not responsive anymore. Closed it, reopened it with the result of a black screen within the Sage window. Is there a way to force Sage to go into the setup menu? Or is the best to delete the wiz.bin file? |

OK, I was able to fix the black window issue with modifying the properties file (second last line).
However, channels still don't change. Help needed! |

Maybe this post will fix the channel change problems. http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...7875#post67875 Just save your old DLL to copy back if it doesn't. BobP. |

ok .. out of knowhere im at 100% cpu everytime i run sage.
Never before have i had this problem. Even after installing WinXP SP2. Here goes. SageTV 2.0 Tried above remedies. Defragged Harddrives made backups of my wiz.bin and properties files Deleted then and replaced. those fixes didnt work. Installed SAgeTV 2.1 That still runs at 100% cpu. Next, I Uninstalled SageTV 2.1 Removed SP2 from my system. Rebooted Installed SageTV 2.1. Still runs at 100% So, What next. Ive had SageTV for over a year. and now all of a sudden i cant use it. Ive got alot invested in it. Proprietary SageTV client built into my home theater system. a Dedicated Silent Running Server. Please someone help..... Last edited by rkn555; 12-23-2004 at 04:36 AM. |

I just had this last night: a system crash corrupted a file that Sage was recording...
Moving the most recently recorded mpg file outside of the video directories solved it for me... YMMV... |

I just got the 95%-100% utilisation bug after a PC crash. (Sage 2.1.10, not a service).
Ie on starting sage it hits 95-100% utilisation during startup and never drops the utilisation back to normal. Have to end task. I deleted the "Live TV" .mpg file in the normal video directory and it fixed the problem! Thanks
