Cool I think I'm going to try and sell my 350 on eBay since I no longer need the TV-out on it and pick up one of these 500's instead. Looks like I can get around $150 for it. Unless anyone here wants dibs before I auction it.

Both tuners in this board are supported by Sagetv? If so this is a very cool thing. I think I found a new must have.

Before I buy one, does anyone know the status of the drivers for this. Are they based on the PVR-250s? Can you have multiple 500s in one machine? Can you mix and match these with other PVR card in the computer or attached (USB2). Are the drivers going to be like the Roslyn?

Enquiring minds want to know.

135 at Buy.Com

I talked to the folks at Hauppauge. You can order now, but the cards won't ship until end of the month when they get them in. You can also buy it at buy.com for $135.

I ordered mine.

It is not free shipping at Buy.com, is it ? How much was shipping anyway ?

I have had really bad experience with most of my past orders at Buy.com (extreme delays, some cancelled without notice, customer service virtually non-existant etc.) ... but I am tempted at the lowest price ...

SHS,

Can you get ahold of the 'pin-outs' for those of us that want to make our own?

Thanks!

We will carry the PVR-500s in early December and will offer them as bundles with SageTV.

Well, I caved in and put my backorder at Buy.com. The current status shows as "Sent to Warehouse"

Question for others who placed order at Buy.com - what does your order status say ?

Can you use a single coax and the svideo on the card seperatorly? Or do you need to use the breakbox two have one input on coax and one on svideo?

I assume you must have the breakout box to use both inputs as svideo. Which kinda makes buying 2 PVR150 seem like a better buy since they would be more flexible for about the same money. Course if you are using coax inputs and/or tight on PCI slots then the 500 is better.

Hey jeff will you have a bundle for thoughs who have the server software but want to get one with the client software?

My situation

I have or will soon have 4 pc's in the house and want to get sage clients for 3 of them i already have the full server version. I also am going to need 3 remotes with ir recievers (don't need the transmiters as i don't have any sat or dig cable box'es). Plus i intend to get a media MVP for the tv in the living room. As far as network i have already during remodeling wired the house for networking with cat5e in each room that needs it as well as some that don't. Total of 7 lines all merging in my computer/bedroom. So were phasing out the old tv's in three of the rooms and going to a sage network with new coming in the future 19 inch lcd's and monitors. Have 2 19 inch crt's and going to get a 19 lcd (That ones mine hehe) after the first of the year and maybe a 17 inch lcd or 19 inch later for one of the other rooms at which point i'll get rid of the old 15 inch and 14 inch crt's.

So i need 3 clients and 3 remotes as well as pvr500 to bump me up to 4 tuners incase everybody wants to watch live tv on diff channels at same time. Later im thinking of replacing the python2 with another pvr500 and have 5 tuners around the time i get the media mvp for the livingroom and give my python2 to my brothers (yeah the one with the tivo) son so he can use it with his own to be purchased sage software.

Basicly i need 5 tuners as i said incase everbody wants to watch their own shows at the same time as we all have our own tastes. And for sake of reducing the number of slots being used as well as number of cables going into my main system which i have upgraded as well as for compatability i have decided that i want to go with 2 dual tuner pvr500's maybe even replacing the pvr 250 over time with another pvr500 just incase everybody's watching some live tv (hey it could happen) when a show that must be recorded comes on.

I have all the pc's but haven't gotten around to assembling the 4th yet as the room it's going into was just remodeled and needs a custom built desk to put the pc on as well as since she went out without telling me or discussing with me and got a bed with a pull out extention that takes up the whole with of the room after we had finished the room. So now i have to change where the pc is going and move the cables to the other side of the room. Don't you just love the way womens minds work "well it's for when her friends come for sleepovers" nevermind that now the closet is in the wrong place and facing the wrong way for allowing maximum use of relistate.

Anyway so now i gotta build a desk in the shape of a triangle with one side that curves to fit the space between the door and the closet we put in. Then i can put in the girls pc and since this bed takes up so much room when it's in full use she can't have her tv back. Which is what spured the whole sage solution that is now evolved into a whole sage house setup.

So now everybody knows what iv'e been doing this past year that i haven't been online. And so in an effort to save some time and money it would be nice to be able to purchase a sage client with a pvr500 and remote. I intend to get the other 2 clients and 2 aditional remotes and another pvr500 after the first of the year and the media mpv and maybe another pvr500 towards spring when i have more $$.

A thought i haven't looked to much into the sage mvp connection does the sage on mvp cost as well? Just wondering if i need to plan for purchase of that.

Sorry long drawn out way of asking this but i wanted to explain my setup and what i was going to be needing in the way of software/hardware for our home.

My new system specs are as follows
AMD Athlon64 2800, MSI K8n Neo fsr, 1 gig memory, 250gig maxtor hdd, 1 pvr250, 1 yuan mpg600 python2, BFG Geforce 5900, Sagetv 2.1.10 running mcexcon's stv.

The 3 other pc's are athlon xp2500's all with MSI K7 neo boards 512 meg memory various size hdd and geforce 5500 le's

I went with all msi boards for the live update feature as well as single ghost image restores incase their needed. BTW i made use of the halfhieght system by giving it to the little woman instead of the plan to use it in the livingroom as the server.

I may in the next year setup a seperate server away from my pc in the closet as the server system and get another client remote for my system.

Oh man that was a long post sorry all didn't mean to cause anybody's eye's to blur and glaze over. I wasn't intending to go that long when i started out the post.

Now i need to go to home depot and get a table saw for making the aformentioned desk as well as future projects. My present from the family as the pc's and network and sage setup to come is my ongoing present to them.

Hey i think i got the short end of the stick here.
