great update

hi, great update. thanks.

i have a wish. when i go in livetv guide and select a movie or what else, i wish there is an gadget for more info to this movie. in germany we have a long discription for the movies and others, but in this version i can read only 5 lines of this information.

i hope you know what i mean.

thanks for your great work

ps: can you show the date in the right corner (near the time)?

someone is going to have to make the icons
mlbdude and I went through this
and I found many nice looking icons but never a complete set
the closest was the icons you are using and the reflection icons
which I tried to complete the set for mlbdude but he dropped support of the STV

and thanks for the update
I will just delete the icons for the time being

icons to consider would need to look realistic
maybe shadowed to fit your STV

I personally like that icon set, I use it on my desktop now. What would be nice is to have two iconsets, so if people like the set you have now, they can use it, or an alternate set. What I DON'T want to see is a mess of different icons like in Cayars. I like his STV, but don't like that the icons aren't consistant between all the menus. He uses some of the same icons from the set this uses, and some from other sets.

Still problems with LiveTV/video

Meekell:

Fantastic looking STV and thanks for continuing to update it! As of .4, I am still having problems with LiveTV slowing and then crashing, same as ever, primarily when reaching the end of a recording period.

Have you gotten any way to duplicate the problem and have you addressed it? I haven't tried .5 yet.

FYI, I am not seeing this error using Original V2 or Cayars 16.

Jon

I have experienced this too, but not using the Meekall STV. So my guess is it is not related necessarily to the Meekall STV. Maybe something worth raising with more detail in its own post as it is definitely a high priority issue.

I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but whatever you changed in 0.5.1 fixed my 350 output problems. The ones durning the show that is, jury is still out on the EOF problem. But at least for the mean time, everything else seems stable!

YAY!

Downside though, I'm getting over 80% CPU usage, versus my normal 10-25%...

So I can only run either my main HTPC, or run the MVP client, but not both without severe speed penalties...

Debug code, I hope?

Really? I assume that the 80% is while watching something, right? The funny thing is that I didn't change anything except the menus i.e. music jukebox, picture library, and imports library. Which version of Sage are you running?

Dibu, does the detailed info box from the main menu show enough info? If it does I will use something like this for a detailed info option in the guide.

2.2.3

80% regardless of the activity. Even just sitting any menu (except the config menu curiously). The config menu calms down a bit. I tried the mvp mode, but still nothing.

I thought this was new, but I just loaded .4 and it does the same thing.

Is there something you're doing everywhere BUT the config menu?

I'll try upgrading to 2.2.4 tomorrow.

Hmmm...Anyone else seeing this behavior? I just looked at my SageTV server and it's running at about 80-90% on the main menu with one show recording, 1 client watching a show, and 1 client sitting idle. Is comskip running in your task manager? I really don't think any of the animations or forks I have running should be cpu intensive. If you shutdown sage and restart sage and look at the cpu monitor is it still running at 80%?

I updated, and still get the CPU usage. I run comskip externally, so no comskip running. The 80% is all in the Sage process BTW, I'm looking at it through the Windows 2k task manager.

java 1.4.2.06 btw

again, this is with just one show recording, no clients, no watching shows, nothing except recording, and stitting on a menu - any menu - except the config menu.

I just checked my system, and my client running this STV sits at about 51-55% when I'm at the main menu. If I Enable the MVP option, it drops back down to the 1-2% that it normally is. Running 2.2.4, on this Client1: P4 2.4 w/256mb 3200 memory, Nvidia 5600, Sage MPEG Decoder on SDTV SVid output.

Since I'm only at about 55% max, it's no real biggie, just something odd in the menu behavior since the last version.

I'll force any animations off while in the mvp mode on the next version and we'll see if that makes a difference. Crashless what's percentage of the cpu's time is used normally when one show is recording? How about when no shows are recording with meekell.stv?

I may have made a few changes to how often a paticular panel is redrawn. I'll look into it...

Dibu, it looks great on your plasma tv! You're right. You do have very long show descriptions...

Normally, with the standard stv, I get about 10-25% when one show is recording, (or live TV for that matter, I use a pvr350). It jumps higher when a new screen is drawn, but normally it sits in that range.

I'll see about when nothing is recording, but that's a rare thing on my system - I have lots of favorites.
