2.1 over 2.0

Is there any real reason to upgrade to 2.1? If I'm not using Divx hardware or anything else like that would there be other real advantage to upgrade to 2.1? Other then the fact that it runs as a service it doesn't seem like much has changed, unless it is more stable, with less errors. Any input from anyone who upgraded?

well I like it because it does run as Win XP Service and it has automatic recovery, so if lets say you are watching live video, then your client does crash, recording cans til continue because service is still up and running. Awesome feature although it does use twice as much ram or more. You dont have to run your GUI, you can just run service and just keep recording, then bring up gui only when you need it.

The biggest new core feature is Keyword favorites. Also, it will no longer delete ex Favorites or Manual Recording automatically.

It also has numerous core bug fixes and performance enhancements. Did it create other wose bugs is always a concern though but so far so good .

I would suggest simply creating a backup copy of your entire 2.0 "Frey Technologies" directory before installing the update. If you have problem with 2.1, you could always revert back. (You cannot use 2.1's wiz.bin file with 2.0.) I am not encountering problems... but then I didn't have problems with 2.0. I really like running it as a service now.
