REMOTE WONDER II Plugin?

Hi all

A few questings:

1) Is there support for the New REMOTE WONDER II in Sagetv 2.1?

2) If I want to use the TV/MPEG2-output on the 350 Card is it then still possible to use a remote?

3) If yes how?

I need a RF remote to cover all rooms (The PC will be in the center of the building)

Thanky for having such a great forum!

The plugin I wrote is for the remote wonder 1, I don't have a RW II, but the plugin SDK has not changed at all (since 2002!), so a RW I plugin will work with an RW II.

I have no idea how the plugin copes with all the new buttons on the RW II though!

yes, of course.
However with the ATI RW plugin I wrote, Sage will need to be the focussed application on the desktop for the RW software to send commands to it. this means you cannot really use the PC for anything else while people are watching TV.

Okay that really defeats the idea about having a dedicated TV out so I could use the PC for different things.

Since the Window have to be open on the PC monitor to have focus on it! if I understand you correctly?

And there is no way of getting a Remote to work on the TV-out without the program running maximized on the PC monitor? I had hoped there was a way to do this

Thanks for your input with the wonder II issue!

It depends on the remote and the drivers and how you configure it...
It is possible with the Hauppauge remote. It should also be possible using any remote with Girder (there is an ATI module for girder, and a Sage module for Girder)

The plugin I wrote for the ATI software (and most other ATI RW plugins) detect which app has the focus to determine what commands to send, so that a single remote can control multiple apps.

Aaah I understand now!

I only want to control SageTV on my TV-out from the 350 card nothing else. And since I need a RF remote (Need the range) and it has to be widely used so its supported by tool & Expert plugin writers like your self Means that RW II and Girder seems to be the solution for me.

Thanks!

BACK function and ATI Remote

With MLBDude's new SageMC STV only using the BACK function for reverse menu navigation, can you tell me how I assign back to a button? I don't see it in the list of options.

Thanks.

Go into setup -> detailed

and with your remote go to commands and link the key on the remote to the command (Back).

HOw can you do this if you are using the ATI Remote Plugin? It doesn't have any correlation to the Sage Remote setup. I thought all control was in the ATI Plugin?

Have you done this? Are you using the ATI Remote Wonder with the Plugin?

I think what he might be trying to say is look at what key/comman SageTV lists in its settings for "Back" and then set up one of the extra buttons in the ATI plugin to that same key/command.

in the plugin configuration you can assign Sage\Prev Screen to one of the A-F buttons (I use 'C' for no other reason than it is near my thumb on a RW I)
Prev Screen == Back in Sage (can't remember why I named it like that!)

AFIAK the Remote Wonder II has been out for over a year. At least I that's how long I've been seeing software upgrades on their web site for it. Should have been included with any of the newer All-in-Wonder cards also. However, a lot of the ones in stores are still older stock and may still have the older remote in the package.
