Forums web server

Is it just me being the 'wrong' side of the atlantic, or has the sage forums server been very poor recently... Half the time, I can hardly get access...

I'd agree with that. I have also been having trouble lately - infact about two minuts ago actually.

Access times have been very slow for me too. This seems to come & go, though it has been happening more often these last few days.

Concerning sides of the pond, one thing that is normal is for the server to be so slow that it almost seems down around 7:30-8:30 AM EST (east coast USA). I'm pretty sure that they're running backup at around that time.

But yes, lately there have been total blackouts as far as I can tell. Long one over the weekend, shorter one this morning (around 9 AM EST).

For one, they should upgrade the software the forums are running on... They are using 2.2.9, and VB is up to 2.3.5 (for the old VB series), 3.0.3 for the new series...

Lots of bugs/security fixes between 2.2.9 & 2.3.5 (several pretty nasty ones at that).
