Mpeg Error In Playback

Received an error when selecting a show from the program guide. I was previously playing a ripped dvd; stopped the dvd and went to program guide to watch live tv. Had to restart Sage to correct.

Here's the error:

There was a MPEG-2 Video Error in playback. Details:
Unable to find the specified MPEG2 video decoder filter
ErrCode=0x80004005

I haven't made any changes to the video decoder filters or anything else for that matter before this error popped up.

edit: forgot to mention that I'm using V2.0.20 and dual Roslyn tuner cards.

Sounds like your decoder crapped the bed. What are you using? Did you by any chance try changing the decoder before restarting (thus forcing it to be reloaded)?

normally restalling the decoder will fix this

uninstall it first though and delete the old video and audio decoder files in the program folder

then reinstall

I'm using Intervideo Windvd 5.0. I didn't make any changes to the decoder and just restarted Sage. It's working fine now. Just curious, because it's the first time I've seen this and the only thing I did previous to the error occurring was ripping a new dvd to the hard drive (using dvdshrink preview disabled).

Seems to be fine after just a restart of Sage. First time I've seen this particular problem. Though my wife says it is similar to another error I previously posted in another thread, but in that one we actually lost recorded shows. This one doesn't seem to be related because it's pretty clear that the video decoder was the issue.
