I have the MlbDude2 skin installed (there is a GetWeather.exe in the STV folder).

When I install the .bat version of the weather suite from Nielm, and set it up... It runs fine.. But in his version I can't make a diff in the menu layout.
Any help would be appreciated

Based on your subsequent post I'm wondering if you know that there are actually two weather menus in Nielm's STV. All of the configuration stuff I've quoted from you above pertains to the menu originated by Mlbdude. It sounds like that one is working.

The other one, known as WRS or Weather Report Suite, or, "that damn weather suite" ( ) has a totally different configuration format (for which I'm mostly to blame). This page discusses configuration of that one:

In my rush to make a custom menu (with dutch translation) I deleted the wrong weather menu item

Well I can't get that forecast to work...
When I use the other weather display from the Mlbdude2 skin, it works.
(I set it up with the weather extractor (the getweather.bat file))

The forecast is just empty in the WRS, no error or nothing...

Nielm,

I am about to install carlo's STV and was wondering something. If I install exactly as he specifies, will I overwrite my newsfeeds? Would I have to enter them again, and is there an easier way to do this? I am going to make a back up of the menu.xml and weatherconfig.xml and just copy those over and I am assuming that those should be fine, correct?

newsfeeds are stored in news.dat, and should be compatible with carlo's stv (which I have not tried)

Have you tried reverting your weatherconfig.xml to the default one?

Nielm, thanks for the great skin.

The overlay translucency works on my television, but has a little problem with laptop. The middle section of the bottom bar looks right, but the sides are completely transparent. The top bar is fine.

My laptop has widescreen set at 1280x800, and the issue goes away when I set the resolution to 1024x768. I guess the matte is not big enough, or isn't been scaled correctly at the different aspect ratio.

yep thats exactly it -- it should not scale (scaling a pattern filled image would look horrible at each pixel would become 1.5 pixels).

The attached version is a bit bigger, and should solve your problem...

IIRC -- it gets used in the search for the upcomming movies screens (but it never worked for me, possibly due to the category names in my XMLTV data)

Have anyone else had recordings deleted by SageTV it self, without autodelete? It happened to me with Nielms 1.6 stv and comskip.

Gonna try reinstalling the STV folder/resetting sage.properties...

The only thing I would recommend you try is to reinstall the nielm_stv_classes.zip.

If that doesn't work, then I may have screwed up the process of delivering my changes for a bug fix to Niel.

well I reinstalled the whole STV (just went through the installation instructions again)

And it still doesn't work... I got JAVA 1.4.2,
And this setup:
XP Pro + SP1
SageTV
512mb 400Mhz Infineon
2600+ Athlon XP
160gb HD
Ati Radeon 9600 256mb
PVR-250


The rest of WRS works.. only the forecast doesn´t.

Yeah, I have had things delete with autodelete turned off. I had a favorite for the Dead Zone. It initially recorded 6 episodes. I did not watch them for a while, the next time I looked their were only 5, then a few weeks later there were only 4. I finally archived the remaining 4 to keep them safe. I don't think it is caused by Nielms STV however.

Methius and DIBU, I've just tested the latest Nielm release under 2.1... it works on my machine.

If anyone else out there has tried or could try WRS under Niel's latest release (either Sage 2 or 2.1), I'd be interested in your findings: do you get forecast and local conditions?
