RAM usage goes through roof when watching TV.
Im running SageTV latest version, registered and Windows 2003 Server. Athlon 2100 with 768megs of RAM.
When Sage is on screen at a show is on my RAM usage goes steadily up until 100% is filled over a 7-10 minutes span. Then my machine performance is horrible. What could be causing this? When i close sage it instantly frees up 500 or so megs. |

What decoders are you using? What is your audio and video card and are you using the latest drivers?

Do you have Norton AntiVirus, by any chance? There was a recent note that it can eat all your memory while playing a video in SageTV for some reason. You can set it to exclude all your video directories & possibly the SageTV dir too.

Thanks Opus that did the trick, I turned off Norton and my memory usage has stayed stable.
Stupid anti-virus software...damned if you do, damned if you dont. |

Glad that worked... I didn't come up with it, but it was finally beaten into me, so I won't forget it!
