XMLTV Channel ID's
I am currently trialling SageTV which look much better than ShowShifter I am currently running.
My only problem relates to getting XMLTV working. I am in New Zealand and we no longer have an XMLTV source although we do have a couple of sources that make XML files that i'm hoping i can use to import EPG data. I have been able to successfully tune in channels. I have also run though the 'XMLTV How to' guide to setup an XMLTV import. My problem is, once i choose the EPG source all of my channels disappear. If I turn off the source they come back. I am assuming from what i have read that this is beacuse the channel id's in the XML file do not match the channel id's in SageTV. How do i find out what the channel id's should be ? |

The XMLTV importer generates its own numeric channel IDs, and assigns them sequentially to channel numbers..
I you are getting no channels in your lineup at all, I would guess that your XMLTV import is failing, or there are no channels defined in the XML... Try using the XMLTV plugin tester (search in SageTV Service forum), or turn on the console (see here) to see any errors reported during XMLTV import...

<11.Aug.2004, 14:22:43> loading properties
<11.Aug.2004, 14:22:43> Initializing properties <11.Aug.2004, 14:22:43> Completed initializing properties This does not look like the XMLTV plugin I know ![]() If it is the latest one by TallyHo, then check his installation instructions -- I think you need a new XERCES parser installed... (note that although his plugin had debug info, it noes not put as much information into the EPG as the older plugins)
