AVI Time incorrect?

I have several AVI's and a few other file sin my imported folder that show up with a duration time of 0:00. I remember a discussion about this, but couldn't find it with a search. Anybody remember if there was a resolution??

Looks like I didn't search enough, here's the fix ....

Worked like a charm, but it's still a pain . Is there a way when you do a refresh to make it COMPLETELY refresh, not just look for new stuff??

It doesn't appear so, so far, or else that FAQ wouldn't need to suggest renaming or moving the files instead of copying them. It would be nice at some point for SageTV to use some sort of marker to know whether a file has changed & needs rescanning. Perhaps even something as simple as a file date and/or size would do the trick.

Only problem with time/date stamp (at least on my systems), it puts the time and date & full filesize when the copy starts for some reason. I'm guessing the best way would be a simple checksum. It would take longer to scan, but it'd be fool-proof...

I didn't suggest a checksum, since with the sizes of these files, it could take quite a while to scan them all.

Yeah, I guess getting even simple checksums for the 100gb or so of files I have on here would take a while . Ran a checksum on the SP2 I got from Microsoft yesterday, and it took about 45 seconds to get a sum on it (266mb).

Maybe they could put a check in to re-read the source file if it shows a length of 0:00? That'd definitely fix the problems...
