Why is Johnny Depp showing up in guide listings as 'Guy Lapointe'

yeah, I know, he played a character named 'Guy Lapointe' in a Kevin Smith film, but it would appear that someone who's not a Depp fan has hacked the data used by Schedules Direct, and anytime a film pops up that Depp stars in, when you go to 'View Recording Detail', his name appears as 'Guy Lapointe'

Is anyone else seeing this, or is there something oddly wrong with ONLY my installation of Sage and Schedules Direct.

Just recorded Gilbert Grape and Sleepy Hollow last night - both list Guy Lapointe as the star.

WTF? lol

Bizarre. I just did a search for Guy Lapointe in SageTV and all of the past airings of Johnny Depp movies (some going back years) are listing him as Guy Lapointe.

I'm guessing each "actor" in Schedules Direct has a unique ID, so if a name gets changed it will map to all of the airings of that actor (even if they are from years ago).

You should ask Schedules Direct about this.

Canadians, or other hockey fans of a certain age will recall this:

La premiere etoile, the first star, numero cinq, number five, Guy Lapointe!

Not sure if this is the same person but Guy Lapointe was a very good stay at home defencemen for the Montreal Canadiens in the 70s and 80s when they were winning a lot of Stanley Cups.

Yeah, I figured a Habs fan/Depp hater was behind this hack, but Depp played a character named Guy Lapointe in a Kevin Smith film. Danny Gallivan would be happy though…

[I work for Schedules Direct]

Can you open a ticket on the Schedules Direct website and provide the MV or EP where you're seeing this? I can follow up with our upstream to see if anything has changed in the source data.

Ok, I’ll take a look at my recordings. Just last week, on listings for Cox Orange County, both ‘Sleepy Hollow’ & ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’ listed the first actor as ‘Guy Lapointe’

As a movie buff, I find this harmless but interesting. I still wonder why it happens.

Just yesterday, I manually recorded "West Side Story (1961)," MV008030000, and the first credit, on SageTV, lists as "Natasha Gurdin" not Natalie Wood. I checked IMDB and TheMovieDB and they both reference "Natalie Wood."
