Broken IMDB metadata link

Just a heads up that calling IMDB for search of show etc yields the dreaded error message.
I suspect this is from IMDB changing their code. Are we inevitably being steered to a pay model? I know this has happened with TVDB metadata @ thetvdb.com for graphics etc. theTVDB.com metadata subscription is currently $11.99 us per yr ** if you are a contributor they award a points system so that subscription fee is waived.

Has someone made a plugin to access their sites via user sign in yet? Will IMDB need log in? On IMDB website it says data is free for non commercial use as long as we adhere to their rules.

P.S. IMDB site is owned by Amazon. I don't know what their licensing arrangements are on the metadata.

I'd be willing to help deal with api coding if someone points me in the right direction.

i had this happen in December and it turned out that IMDB was having problems that day and was off and on. Maybe this was the same sort of thing?
