I noticed in your XMLTV file Nova Channel 10.1@ Sunday Nov 13 1:00pm will show first run but the previous air date is from a prior date. Not sure what is going on there? Still have not figured out the logic that SageTV marks the program as First Run.

I noticed that the Guide data from Gracenote marks a lot of shows as new if they re-air in a new channel. For example Chicago PD most of the reruns showed up as new in USA channel.

but everything that I see SageTV knows it not new but marks it first run.

As far as I can see SageTV and SD acts the same. Since we are in two different markets I tried to find as close as possible as an example. I would need your zipcode and tv provider if I really wanted to see both side by side. I could use my SD account and test server to get the guide data for your market to compare. This glitch seems to happen more on PBS channels. I still do not understand the logic SageTV is using. Never the less the data being presented to SageTV is corrent....SageTV is not using it correctly

53149 OTA(SD), Hulu & Spectrum from Channels DVR TVE. I see a similar issue with PBS frequently, in fact the show in question is a 'First Run' for up to one week, when the program is no longer shown on PBS.

Thank you for fixing the football first run issue! It's working great!

It appears that when the same sports program runs more than once, it either considers the first 2 instances of it as 'first runs' or maybe it is considering it a first run based on the instances appearing on day 1 (maybe on the GMT clock?). It would be interesting to know why Sage's decision making on first runs seems to very by show or probably by category.

Strange how the NOVA program on PBS came up as first run for an entire week. I just checked "Annika on Masterpiece" and it appears to be a first run today at 9pm, but not a first run tomorrow morning at 2:30am.

It’s not a bug, it’s by design. An episode is considered to be first run not just the very first time it airs, but for its initial airing window (which is usually about a week). It’s not considered a re-run until it goes away and comes back again.

All these years using SageTv and still learning things. Thanks for the post. You saved me many hours of jumping down a rabbit hole.

This XMLTV update is a vital update to keeping SageTV alive is there any chance this can be made into a plugin?
