Sage deleted tonight's news but saved older recordings
2nd edit: Looks like Sage crashed at 6:03pm. I'll leave this here in case it helps someone else in the future. My server was blue screening a lot over the last month or two, so I reinstalled Windows and Sage 64-bit, and while the blue screens have stopped, the server seems to still be crashing from time to time.
Code:

1) You gotta get that crash situation figured out. If that machine was blue screening and still crashing after a fresh install, you probably have a hardware problem, likely memory or hard drive.
2) Temporarily set your limit on recordings to keep to 10 or so. Start comparing the new recordings to the old recordings from mid-December to determine if there is a problem with the EPG date or some other difference. I use MediaInfo to list media file properties. If the recording was interrupted by a crash, then it's very possible Sage was cleaning it up after recovery. |

Coming back to this after the holidays. You nailed it - I had two crashes in one day, so I tore the machine apart, cleaned everything with a dust blower, cleaned the NVMe and RAM contact points with isopropanol, re-seated everything, and cranked the fan speed in the BIOS to ludicrous speed.
Now it's been over a week and the machine has been rock solid. All recordings have been perfect and we've had a bunch of clients and recordings going on with no issues.

If it starts acting up again, I'd run:
1) Memtest86 - I used to create a bootable CD, boot from it, and run the low level memory tests from their DOS environment. I would imagine they have a bootable USB option or other at this point. https://www.memtest86.com/ 2) Hard disk checks in Windows (I'd personally run them first chance I got, because I don't like my media server to be down unexpectedly) |
