Android Miniclient unable to connect to SageTV Linux Server ˃v9.2.2.268

I'll start out by saying that I wasn't sure whether to post this question/issue in the "SageTV Software" or "SageTV Clients Development" portion of the forum as I'm not sure what's causing the issue I'm experiencing. Apologies if I've selected the wrong forum.

As stated in the title, I'm using @jvl11's fork of the Android Miniclient to view content. Everything works well with SageTV Linux Server v9.2.2.268. If I load either SageTV Linux Server v9.2.5.168 or v9.2.6.1, my Miniclient displays an "unable to connect" message. I've tried upgrading v9.2.2.268 to the newer versions as well as reloading my Linux box from scratch with v9.2.6.1 - same result. I took a look at the SageTV log files and found the following:

Sun 10/31 11:20:22.792 [MiniUIServer@66f42b5c] MiniUI got connection from java.nio.channels.SocketChannel[connected local=/192.168.0.4:31099 remote=/192.168.0.230:47372]

Sun 10/31 11:20:22.796 [MiniUIServerConnection@fe1a735] at sage.Pooler$PooledThread.run(Pooler.java:254)

I'm not sure what to make of the info above. Can someone enlighten me and perhaps propose some next steps? Thanks!

Reading online suggests it’s an issue with compiling with > Java8 but running on Java8. I don’t know why others aren’t seeing this but perhaps they are running a newer version of Java on their Linux servers? I’ve seen quite a bit of discussion about versions and issue with plugins, etc. but not sure what to recommend here. Maybe try Java 9?

I think I had this same issue using the Java8 version of the SageTV Docker. I don't have this issue with either the Java9 or Java16 Docker.

To close the loop on this issue, I installed Java JDK v17.0.1 on my Linux box today and I'm now able to connect to SageTV v9.2.6.1 via the Android TV MiniClient. Understand that others may be running SageTV plug-ins that are incompatible with Java v17, but my relatively simple config seems to be running perfectly. Appreciate the help!
