Lost playback support
I've got a really old system that has worked great until this morning. Running SageTV v. 9.1.6.747 on an old WHS v1 box. Suddenly lost support for a couple of things:
1) HD200 can see all files, but will not play any videos (either DVD's or SageTV recorded files) 2) On the serverbox I can play recorded video files which originated through SageTV, and I can stream live video from HDHR, but I cannot play any DVD files (full DVD's using .VOB .TS files) or other video files (*mp4, *.mkv, *.avi). 3) Music files stored on the server will appear to stream to the HD200, but there is no sound (ie. timestamp advances, but not audio) 4) Picture files store on the server WILL display through the HD200 I've verified that the original files (audio and video) are not corrupted as they will play through a network connected windows pc using windows software (ie. not using sagetv software on the pc). This includes video that has been recorded by SageTV since these problems started. Sage still records the items in the record que, and they will play on the serverbox, but not through any other Sage connected device (HD200, HD300). Any ideas where to begin?

what happens if you install a Sage client on the Windows PC?
I believe there is some info that is saved on the server that is specific to each client that connects. You might need to find the relevent files for the HD200 on the server and clear them out. |

That wouldn't really explain why some files wouldn't play on the server itself. Something got corrupted somewhere. I'd change over to Win10 if it wasn't for the 400 DVD's stored in the old WHS shared drive format. That will be a major pain to relocate.

I've had this before with some of my HD300s, normally a full power cycle of the HD300 resolves the problem.

This happens to me from time to time as well. I would do a full power off and reboot of any and all extenders and the server.
