So I got it installed as instructed with the x2 splitter going to the modem and to the amp, and the amp going to the tuners (Ceton and 'cable box') and the channels look good now and the signal is up from -7.5db to (+) 2.6db!
Still got a little bit of 'making it all pretty' to do, but it's connected and working well! Thanks so much for all the help!

Good to hear! I’m not certain, but maybe even if you have decent signal strength from the cable provider, certain channels might be broadcast at a lower signal level than others. Which could explain why the pixelation only affects certain channels.
