HVR-2250 with latest beta drivers gets pixelized
I recently installed the latest beta drivers for the Hauppauge HVR-2250 to resolve the 'recordings start at 5:01' problem, whihc it appears to have fixed, but it also seems now that if it records when things re recording on my other tuners (HD PVR's) it gets pixelized pretty bad. I'm not sure how many of the otehrs have to be in use in order to see this, but for example tonight I was recording on all three HD-PVRs and on one of the tuners in the 2250, and the 2250 show got choppy and pixelized though the three shows from the HD PVRs look and sound just fine.
I'm not certain that this never happened with the old drivers, but I've never come across anything that was pixelized in the month or two that we've had the setup. Oh, and it's not a problem on playback, we've seen it on the server itself, the PC client I have, and our SageTV HD Theater devices. It's the exact same pixelization at the same spots on each. So I'm wondering if anyone else has seen a problem like this? I'm wondering (hoping?) if there is a setting that might have gotten reset that we need to change again to get it working right? Again, I'm real pleased that we've resolved the 5 minute problem, but obviously this is a bigger deal. Thoughts?? Last edited by MickBurke; 03-04-2009 at 11:21 PM. |

I just checked the source and channel setup and foudn that my signal strength on most channels is now 15% rather than the 100 I had a few days ago. Do we think this is the drivers? I would expect if the signal was really taht low, I'd have problems with the set top boxes.
Thoughts? |

Maybe check up this thread - http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...t=34355&page=6 - Seems someone else has tried the new drivers and seen a change in signal strength

Ok, so it's even weirder...
I checked today after doing a shut down and restart last night, and the signal ius at 100% and working fine. I decide to go to tuner 2 (on the 2250) and see something unrelated (a channel cahnged recently) and THAT tuner is still at 15% . What's going on !??! Does this make sense to anyone? |

I am still on the latest released driver and I had something similar last night. Tuner 1 had 100% signal and tuner two had 0%.
It turned out that the station I was tuning to on tuner 2 had bad reception (Fox). If I chose a different station tuner 2 got 100% or if I manipulated the antenna the Fox started working on both tuners. So you have to compare both tuners signals using the same station. I'm going to put up and outdoor antenna this weekend because of this. S |
