Extracting date of recording?

I'm looking to archive some old recordings - sports events, etc.

Is there a way to determine the date of the recording from the code at the end of the recording filename? Is there any other way?

I'd like to convert many of these in an automated way, rather than by trying to access the recording from an hd300 in another room, write down the details, go back to my office, start the conversion, etc...

Thanks!

You can use the SageTV API with Groovy to script it or produce a list
The number in the file is the Airing ID so no direct relationship with date but lower number would most likely be older recording

How about using the OS file modification date?
