Question Moved to new PC, I have two problems. Help!

I have two issues related to moving to a new PC:

1. I copied the entire sagetv folder over to the new PC. When I launch SageTV I don't have any of Favorites. I moved just the wiz.bin from old to new and same issue. The only difference between them is I was running x86 version on old system and x64 on new. How do I get back up and running?

2. The recordings were moved from old to new and some of them aren't planning from the beginning but rather and offset (example: 5 mins into the show). The offset seems to translate to the Stop Time which in the example is 5 mins after the show actually ends. How do I correct this? Is it related to the above issue?

So disaster averted, using the x86 installer on the new system got my favorites back and the recording now play correctly from the beginning.

OK is looks like the recording start and end times are still not right across a lot of the recordings. Some end early others have the Stop Time marker at the beginning of the recording instead of the end if you scrub back before the number the recording plays but you see a negative time.

How do I fix this?

NOTE: Also moved from Win7 to Win10

When moving to a new PC or especially to 64-bit you'll want to run the installer into a clean directory. Get the system up (without your content). Then shut down and copy your wiz.bin over into the installed location and start back up.

If you want to avoid reinstalling your tuners, you may be able to take your old sage.properties file over but you'll have to edit the paths that refer to the SageTV install directory.

You're probably best off reinstalling any plugins since they may add files in various places.

Note that I haven't ever done this myself but my comments are based upon what I remember others suggesting.

Thanks that is what I ended up doing and everything looks good except for the recordings ending early and what not that I mentioned above. I'd really like to get a fix for these if possible.

It looks like maybe you have this problem? https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65445

There was a bug where the file time stamps got set wrong and when re-importing the videos into a new path the database got hosed up. If you were installing to a new system but had the exact same paths for all of your media and used your old wiz.bin I think this wouldn't have happened though. Did you let it rescan all of your files or where they in place when you started up SageTV and defined the import libaray paths?

Check out the creation and modified dates for the messed up recordings.

So after consolidating all the recording to a single drive and waiting a day it looks like all the recordings are playing back correctly.

Lesson re-learned when you move to a new machine you need to wait a day for things to stabilize.
