I wondering if the problem with Linux and Ryzen USB 3.0 device

Got this in response to my request for RMA:

"You are referring to the QuadHD USB I assume not the PCIe model?

If yes that model has not had Linux support yet. The person that works on
our Linux PPA has just added support within the last week and just waiting
on confirmation from him if he placed those update already in the latest PPA
downloads.

Do you want to wait on that or do you still want a refund? "

I answered yes, but you may be more adventurous. IIRC, the HVR-2250 is supported with the same kernel modules as the Quad. I see used ones on e-bay. I had one once that didn't work on XP, but the Quad did. But V4L shows the 2250 as supported.
