Channel suddenly 0% Signal Strength & No Signal
I did something and can't figure it out. This may be caused trying to keep up with the many OTA stations changing Frequencies by frequently "scanning" for channels. Channels 20-1 and 20-2 suddenly became unreachable -- 0% Signal Strength and "No Signal." All (well, the ones I checked -- there are 71) other channels appear as expected. This happens with the Server using "Watch Now" or with "Play" on the Client (HD300).
I can go to Setup>Setup Video Sources>[Source]>Channel Setup>Preview and the signal is 98% and picture is as expected. This channel is also clear with three TVs and with HDHomeRun desktop -- all using the same source (rooftop antenna). Oh! in case it's important: I am running SageTV v9 on a Vista machine that has been running continuously for over ten years. (Waiting patiently for the 64 bit version.) Multiple tuners? If so, it's generally best to troubleshoot this kind of problem via Setup>Setup Video Sources>[Source]>Channel Setup>Preview (like you did), and NOT from the Guide. (Using the Guide, it's VERY difficult to know which exact tuner it's accessing.) Use Preview for each tuner to check it's behavior. I suspect that one or more tuners which need remapping isn't configured for "Use Existing Lineup", and it's using a (now stale) COPY of a lineup. As the FCC channel remap has already started at my area, there's been a slow but predictable appearance of System Information messages about "new channel added to lineup". My video sources don't use lineup Copies, so the remap has inched forward without any need on my part to manually intervene.

Yes, there are 10 tuners.
Right now, the NFL Playoff games are playing so I will not be able to do anything that might get me shot. <chuckle> I will follow your instructions tomorrow. |
