USB tuners not usable

[lewispm]

Since last night my USB tuners on Windows 10 SageTV v9 are not usable. They show in the web interface as available, but fail silently when trying to record or tune to them.

Sage has an error that they are not available, and I should reboot or update the drivers.

I installed NextPVR to test, and was able to tune and view live TV with it, so its something with Sage all of a sudden.

I run Sage on a Win10 VM (Unraid) and ~1 week ago my problems started with a USB HD PVR. I suspect it is from a recent update. I've enabled Camera Privacy settings - but that didn't do anything.

I just fixed it moments ago - here's what I did after many failed attempts:

-device manager shows a warning on the HD PVR

The Device Cannot Start (Code 10)

-I ran the HW Clear tool to try to remove prior driver versions, reboot
-then reinstalled the latest driver
-The driver installation says "drivers were successfully installed" but then in the same dialog "Your card's model number could not be detected. Please check your product is connected and retry."
-The HD PVR then disappears from the Device Manager. The HD PVR has all 3 lights on (yellow = error).
-shut down Windows
-power cycle HD PVR
-boot Win10
-had to re-add the capture device in SageTV (though I removed it in prior troubleshooting so ymmv)
-Seems to now be working.

Good luck. I'll report back on any relevant developments.
