Any one able to use a Streamzap remote with Win 10 based system?
I finally had to move SageTV to a new, Windows 10 based system. Windows XP has worked great with Sage since I started using SageTV 2. Even Sage 9 worked great with XP.
The one thing that is squirrelly with the new system is the Streamzap remote. I installed the latest official driver from Streamzap plus the unofficial 64-bit update driver. The remote seemed to work great until I actually used it to watch videos. When I used the scroll up or down buttons, the software seemed to scroll forever. It didn't stop when I released the button. I eventually figured out that the software was logging all of the rapid-fire commands from the remote and then dutifully stepping through the list at the 300 ms repeat rate I set in Sage. The fast forward and rewind buttons had the same annoying process. I got most of the buttons to work adequately by moving the Streamzap software delay controls down from their 50% default setting to about 25%. The odd part is that the settings had no effect on the long fast forward and rewind buttons. A quick push of one of these buttons leads to at least two jumps. If I'm really fast on pushing the buttons, I get a single jump. The only other odd problem is the red programmable button does not work. It is set to alternately maximize or minimize the in focus window. It worked fine under Win XP, but no go with Win 10. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve |

I found the answer. Ditch the Streamzap drivers by using FLIRC to convert button action to keyboard actions. I posted a separate thread to explain how.
