new shows are reruns

A couple of new shows (AMC & WGN) are showing as new on the first time, but come up as re-run on the second and third showing. It has not been recorded or watch. I can't make them a favorite on the later showing as the favorite reverts back to the first showing. Can that be fixed?

How things are labeled whether 1st run or rerun can vary from network to network, and sometimes even from show title to show title.

I would say the "typical" thing you see is that shows will appear in the EPG as 1st run for several days to a week with future airings. Sometimes though you can see what you are experiencing where only the absolute first airing is labeled as a first run and all the future airings are reruns. Which technically *is* correct in the strictest terms.

How I have gotten around what you are seeing many times is to just go into the favorite you have set up and switch it from 1st run to 1st runs and reruns. If you have the show recorded it won't record it again, and it will also honor the watched flag. But the scheduler will be more flexible in relation to conflicts and pick a later airing even if it isn't labeled 1st run as long as you have the favorite set to use 1st runs and reruns.

I went even further and I just did reruns in the favorite. Only because with both it still used the first run time , which I didn't want.

Thanks for the response. The only reason I posted the second one is that I had found my answer after experimenting around for a week.
