Yikes, just upgraded to v9.1.8 from 9.1.5 and lost all my recorded shows

My Recorded shows has only two shows that recorded this afternoon.. All others are gone.

I just found Wiz.bin.corrupt0, Wiz.bin.corrupt1 and Wiz.bin.corrupt2.

And my Wiz.bin file is now 16.9 megs and the Win.bak is 26.5 megs.

Oh Crap.

Any ideas? All the shows .mpg files are still in the folders....

Do i dare stop the service and rename the .bak to .bin and restart?

Save the current wiz.bin, whatever it happens to have to somewhere else and give wiz.bak a shot with everything stopped. It should be the same data.

Nothing between 9.1.5 and 9.1.8 should have anything to do with the wiz.bin file format but something must have been running/accessing the file when the upgrade happened. Did you have everything (including the service) stopped when you installed the upgrade?

Holy Cow, I tried that .bak file but it was also missing the files... Then I remembered that program that backs up the wiz and sage.properties file every night. I copied down the last backed up one, and Wham Bam Thank You Mam.

The shows are back and so are the favorites. I had just noticed those were missing too..

Thanks for the suggestion! The WAF will be back to normal in the morning. Phew..

The sage service was off, but Crashplan may have been backing them up. It does that every time they change, and they probably changed when I stipped the service and they got written out again. Oh well, Crashplan is canceling its home customers, so I will be migrating to Idrive anyway.
