music import problems

Greetings.
I love what you have done with SageTV since it became open source.
I have been running SageTV for 10 or more years... ran for LONG time on Win XP (even after the End of Life for XP) until about 6 months ago.

I now have two Sage servers running . One is on Linux (I prefer Linux, but have several issues including a R5000 DISH tuner that I still use, among other things). Anyway, I have the following issues:
On my Linux machine, Music files with international characters in the filename won't import. That's a change from before, because many of those files imported to the XP machine.

On my Win 7 machine, none of my music imports from SAMBA shares mounted on the Win7 system from a Linux server where I have both ripped videos and all my music.

These seem like two different issues, so maybe I should have put them in different messages?
