Client: Can it be installed on Windows 8.0 box?

I've been through the "...registration failed...." thing at least a dozen times now... Applied all of MS' Windows Updates which, I assume, took care of the C++ library problem.

Or did it? All the refs I have seen were to 8.1 systems - and this laptop I am trying to install Client on is 8.0.

Best fix would probably be to upgrade it to Windows10.
Not advertised but you can still upgrade in place for free.

Done!

And the laptop in question runs a lot faster now.

Client installs and starts up. .... Everything seems normal except that videos cannot be played.

Something about error 4,0x00040217....I tried changing from the Sage decoder to MS's, but no joy.
