"TV" Command Now Going to "Live TV" ?

Almost since Day 1, I have had my remote config'd so that if I press "TV", it takes me to the listing of recorded TV shows. (command #15)

Sometime in the last month, it started taking me to Live TV (command #62).

I am seeing the same behavior when I run the Sage UI on my server PC: Ctl+V gives me live tv instead of the list of recorded TV shows.

Has anybody else been here?

If so, what was the fix/workaround?

Detailed Setup -> Commands. You should be able to map any button to any command.

Yeah - that's what I have been doing from Day-1.

Just did it for the umteenth time on the PC/UI: Ctl+V = TV.... but when I go back to the main menu and hit Ctl+V, I get Live TV.

That's what the TV command is supposed to do. If that's not what you want, you need to map CTRL V to some other command.

I'll be honest, and state that I don't really know the history of that button, as I don't think I've ever used it - but looking in the SageTV7 STV, it appears that from the main menu the action that the 'TV' command takes is is you have permission to do Live TV, it will jump to that, and if you do not, it will jump to the currently playing playback, if there is one. Otherwise, it will do nothing. There is a different command, SageTV Recordings (Command Number: 86) that goes to the recordings screen. I wonder if you had previously mapped that command to your CTRL-V? Or had a different plugin that changed the default behavior.

My money is on that.

Thanks!

FWIW, then can anybody elucidate the diff between Live TV and TV?

'Live TV', I believe, will stop whatever is playing and jump to live tv, while 'TV' will just switch to whatever is playing. 'Live TV', if already watching an active recording, will jump to the current time as well.

Thanks again.

All I can think of is that, the last time my SageTV box bit the big one, somehow I reverted that command button to "TV" instead of "Sage TV Recordings"....

Tangential Question:

With Zap2It going away this summer, I am starting to convert to SchedulesDirect.

I assume that the v7.1.9 that SD wants is post-Frey Technologies and that if I install it today, my Zap2It will go away the same as if I were to install v9.

That being the case, what are the chances of a total noob shooting himself in the foot by trying to go to v9?

I use and love PluckyHD's Sage Diamond API..

Go to v9. Backup the folder and go for it.
