Question Schedules Direct "No Data" issue

I'm having some issues with pulling the schedule from a few channels. I sometimes get the proper data but most of the time I get "No Data".

The channels in question are...
95, WWORDT3, ID75009
108, WABCDT3, ID50276
111, THisTV, ID352
113, WNYWDT2, ID30763
114, Antenna, ID353

I've already submitted a ticket with SD and they checked and verified that there is program data present for these channels. I also verified by using FreeGuide to display the listing independent of Sage.

Any suggestion for troubleshooting this?

In your SageTV folder you should have a file named sdmd5sched. Please upload that file. Also what's your postal code and what lineup are you using?

The only way you're getting no data is if either the wizard is tossing the data out for some reason, the station ID's are not integers (not likely since you sometimes see data) or we are getting MD5 hashes from Schedules Direct that are not changing when the guide data changes. Anything else would cause you to never have a successful EPG download and you would eventually see messages about it.

Edit: Also after you upload that file, delete it, trigger an EPG update and upload the new file after the update. This should help confirm the hashes are not the problem.

You can either do it though the web interface. There's a link on the main page that reads [Force EPG update]. Or you can go to the channels and disable then re-enable a channel.

This is also important. Are those channels ok right now or do they still show No Data?

I was comparing the relevant station data and it looks like the hash didn't change between when you didn't have data and when you did have data. I know I've seen the schedules come back from Schedules Direct blank before, then suddenly be fine a few hours later and no change in the hash, so I'm wondering if that happened. SageTV doesn't make up these hashes, it's what comes from Schedules Direct, so since both files match on these stations I am still thinking it's a Schedules Direct issue. I'm going to try to log these stations on another machine at home for a little while to see if they do anything strange. I would have you enable JSON logging, but it will likely be easier to spot the problem if I just add some additional logging.

I also pushed a change last night to the SageTV project that should make it unlikely that you will ever see No Data without there really being No Data again.

No problem. The last fix I put in place that was supposed to address blank stations didn't get the job done in all cases, so hopefully this will be the last time we need to visit this kind of problem.

I'm having this problem all of a sudden for zip code 73099. All of a sudden I'm only getting 10 of the channels I'm supposed to get. Tried to force a refresh but still no dice.

Delete sdmd5sched and force another refresh. There is a fix for this that should always work, but it will be in v9.0.15 which has not been released yet.

If you're still having an issue, please open a ticket at the Schedules Direct website so that we can investigate your lineup.

Well, before I saw your suggestion I switched to my alternate zip code, 73162, and got the full channel list back. This morning I switched back to 73099 and all seems to be ok.

Last night I did have a scheduler problem. Some of my favorites were not being scheduled for some reason after I had switched zip codes. I had to go through all my favorites and disable and enable all of them to get them to be scheduled again.

What do you mean by "disable" a favorite?

I can't recall which version introduced the feature but if you go into Advanced under a favorite there is an option to disable/enable the favorite.
