Messing with metadata

I've found that if I take a couple movies out of "recordings" and put them back in, the metadata sticks to the wrong movie when I do an IMDB lookup from the Sage UI. I'm guessing that re-importing a file I've taken out of "recordings" is a bad idea. This can result in multiple shows that share the same metadata even though they aren't the same. Is there a way to stop this?

Luckily this has so far only been a problem with Svengoolie, so I can probably wait for the shows to come around again.
