Does V9 support Silicondust MP4 Encoding?
My OTA recordings are still huge and I would like to replace my existing Silicon Dust network tuners with their newest that has hardware mp4 encoding. I read that v7 doesn't support it. Does v9? If not, is it on the roadmap?
I wrote the below cmd line to use ffmpeg to convert them to mp4 which reduces the file size from 6gb to around 1gb. I am going to run this on shows that I don't care about so if it makes them unusable I won't scream about it... The seems work if you first CD into the directory where the mpg's reside and writes them to the C:\CV folder: FOR %%g IN (*.mpg) DO c:\cv\ffmpeg -i f:\tvshows\%%g c:\cv\%%~ng.mp4 This is what a typical OTA recorded show looks like with FFPROBE. I think OpenDCT supports it - I can't verify though, as I don't have one of the newer models.

OpenDCT supports using the H.264 encoding available from the HDHomeRun Extends since 0.4.25. It does not end up changing the container format to .mp4.
