No more Sage lockups ever since...

I turned off UI out via 350. I was good for 5-6 lockups a night, but I finally shut off the UI. Sure it's a feature I miss seeing the UI interface output on the screen, but hopefully someone will fix this problem and I will be a $$ customer at that point.

Thanks,

Steve

What version of the drivers are you using?
I had the same problem until I upgraded to the ones on:

ftp://ftp.shspvr.com

Now my system has been up for 24hr with no lock ups.

sounds like you might have to get out those $$$ after all

Are you users saying that 1.18.21.22162 solves the problem of the 350 locking up when using the UI output to the TV screen?

Thanks,

Steve

I don't about that because I am still using SageTV 1.4. However, I was able to bring up SageTV 2.0 and got in about 5 hours of testing which I was not able to do before. Even with SageTV 1.4 and these drivers I still encounter both hard and soft freezes from the 350. In my case I can eliminate those by turning off hyper-threading, but then I encounter a new problem. While I think these drivers still have bugs, I think it fixes a lot of issues.

Yes ... i had the same issues and since the upgrade to the new drivers, I've been lockup free for over two weeks. Sage 2.0 and PVR 350 ... yummmy !!!

Also, I used a different .dll for the remote. It was causeing lockups and I found a beta .dll in one of the forums that has worked beautifully.

Do you know where that beta remote .DLL can be found? I would ilke to test with these new drivers & DLL, and if all is well I'm going to buy Sage soon.

TIA,

Steve

The problem is that IE doesn't like doing passive ftp transfer's so i had to use another program to get it. I have it now and will install shortly.

Well, I have that latest driver and still have lock-ups with the UI enabled. I even added a fan in my case to blow right over the 350. I am stumped.

I to would like to know about this remote dll. Maybe that is my problem. Will do a search to see if I can find it.

Sure it will.

You have to enable it:

Click Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Use Passive FTP

350 Output Problems

I have upgraded to the new drivers SHS posted on 6/11/04. When I activate the UI, I get soft lockups. Sometimes I can fix it by disabling UI and sometimes not as the UI will not disable

This drives me crazy.

Catman -

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that is still having problems with soft-lockups with the 350, even after the latest shs drivers!

On another note, sorry that you are also having problems. I would really like to know the exact configurations that people are using that have actually been able to get 350 out with UI enabled, and without any lockups.
