Recording same show multiple times

Sage seems to want to record the same show twice for some reason. I have four tuners, three with cable and one with DirecTV. I have a Sacramento feed for DirecTV and a local cable feed for Medford, OR. Big Brother 5 is on at 8pm on DirecTV and at 9pm on cable. Sage records both episodes, and will even show conflicts for the DirecTV one if something else only available on DirecTV is set to record.

For example, this Sat. Sage is shows it will record Big Brother 5 at 8pm on DirecTV and at 9pm on cable. There's a boxing match on HBO that would normally record, but won't because Big Brother 5 is set as a higher favorite (my wife would kill me if it recorded boxing over BB5). So without intervention, I'd miss boxing so Sage could record two of the same BB5 show. I hope that makes sense. Does anyone have a fix or suggestion? Thanks.

Do the shows have the same unique ID? If they don't the best you can do it limit it to either a station or a time-slot to keep the other from going.

Yes... they have the exact same show ID.

Is it a SH or EP type number? It is probably a SH type number that only ID's the show, SageTV connot determine the episode from it. If it is an EP number, then it is probably a bug.

There is info in the FAQ thread about show IDs here. I looked at some of those episodes & some were showing only the SH style IDs. That means the IDs are NOT unique, therefore SageTV records them all since it can't tell the difference between the episodes. The EPG data may get updated as the airing date gets nearer. If not, you can contact Frey to have them try to get the provider to correct the info, as Frey suggests here.

Otherwise, use a timeslot favorite from either the MlbDude2 or MalDude STVs to narrow down the time where the show is allowed to be recorded.

The show ID is an SH one prior to being recorded, but it is an EP one after it's recorded. I'm a bit leary of limiting it to a channel or time slot for fear of when they run specials that are on at different times. I'm running your STV opus4 (thank you) so I'll take a look at the favorite options.
