Status of WebUI for SageTV 9 and Java 1.8

About a week ago, I did a clean 64-bit Linux SageTV-9 install, then
imported all my old recordings and schedules by copying my old Wiz.bin
file from my old Linux SageTV-7 32-bit server directory.

I always much preferred the webUI for scheduling recordings, so I've
spent a fair bit of the morning reading the various threads about
Jetty and web apps and SageTV-9 and Java 1.8 [1]. There seem to be
issues with version 1.7 vs. 1.8 of Java, with version 2.5 vs. 3.0 of
???, with where the plugins are expected to be found out on the
internet, and with how they are installed.

After reading all that, I still have no clue whether it's possible to
install the standard WebUI on my server (or how to go about it if it
is possible).

Could some kind soul summarize the current state of affairs?

Thanks...

  1. When did people start calling Java 1.N "Java N", and is Java 2.0 going
to be "Java 10" or "Java X"?

I installed the Sage docker version on unRAID with Java 8 and it works fine - no issues at all.

Just to confirm: you installed the SageTv Web Interface v3.1 plugin via the normal setup/plugins menu?

I just installed the "SageTV Web Interface" plugin from the plugins menu on my linux docker SageTV install. The only thing I had to do special was to make sure I had no other dockers plugins on unRAID using port 8080.
